Benefit car show raises $1,639 for Bright Futures

GRAVETTE — The Gravette Cruise and Car Show group hosted a benefit car show Saturday, Aug. 20, at Gravette High School.

The show, held in the parking lot at Lion Field, attracted 93 entries from throughout the area. A total of $1,639 was raised from entry fees and half of the 50-50 pot. All proceeds went to the Gravette Bright Futures organization.

Westside Eagle Observer/SUSAN HOLLAND John Hankins, of Gentry, displayed an eye-catching pair of citrus-hued vehicles in the Gravette Cruise-sponsored car show Saturday, Aug. 20. He entered his lime-green 1923 Ford in the Pre-1950s class and his lemon 1949 Ford F-3 in the Under Construction class. Proceeds from the show benefited Bright Futures.

Westside Eagle Observer/SUSAN HOLLAND Jimmy Roberts, of Gentry, attracted many admirers for his black and white display. His 1929 Model A won second place in the Pre-1950s class and he also entered his 1957 Ford Thunderbird in the Classic division of the show.
