Fall Rock Swap set for this weekend

The Northwest Arkansas Gem and Mineral Society will be holding its annual Fall Rock Swap on Sept. 10-11. The Swap, which is a very informal, fun outdoor rock show and sale, will be at the Clubhouse, located just north of Siloam Springs on Highway 43 at Lawlis Road. Hours are Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Parking and admission are free. Coffee with city officials

The city of Gravette will host “Coffee with Elected Officials” in the city council chambers at 202 Main Street N.E. monthly in the hour prior to the first city council meeting of the month. Guests are invited to stop by for a cup of coffee and to meet and chat with Gravette’s elected officials, including the mayor, city council members and the city attorney. Coffee with Elected Officials sessions will be held on Sept. 8, Oct. 13, Nov. 10, and Dec. 8 from 5 to 6 p.m.

Tired Iron to hold fall show

The 30th annual fall show of the Tired Iron of the Ozarks is tentativel­y set for Friday through Sunday, Sept. 9-11. The show features antique tractors, engines and machinery, as well as a working sawmill and blacksmith shop. This year’s show will feature Oliver tractors and Waterloo engines. The showground­s, located at 13344 Taylor Orchard Road in Gentry, will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. The show and parking are free to the public.

Friends of Library book sales

The Friends of the Gravette Public Library will begin regular bimonthly book sales beginning Saturday, Sept. 10, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Friends book sale room at 407 Charlotte Street S.E. (old library building). Enter through the east door. Sales will be held the second and fourth Saturday of each month and some evenings during Gravette’s Third Thursday events.

Pickin’ Time on 59

Pickin’ Time on 59 is coming up again, on Thursday through Saturday, Sept. 22-24, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. The event offers yard sale items, collectibl­es and antiques, and the sale extends from Siloam Springs to Sulphur Springs. Glow Ride set in Gentry

The annual glow ride for bicyclists, sponsored by the Gentry Chamber of Commerce, will be held on the evening of Saturday, Sept. 24, beginning just before dark on the north side of the city park.

Trick or Treat on Main Street

Gentry’s Trick or Treat on Main Street event is set for Monday, Oct. 31, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Local businesses will be passing out treats to trickor-treaters at the annual event sponsored by the Gentry Chamber of Commerce.

Gentry Christmas Parade is Dec. 10

Gentry’s annual Christmas Parade is set for 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10, on Main Street in downtown Gentry. The lineup will be at 5:30 p.m. This year’s theme is “Miracles on Main Street.” The parade is sponsored by the Gentry Chamber of Commerce.

Kiwanis meetings

Meetings of the Gravette Kiwanis Club are held at 7 a.m. on the first and third Fridays of each month in the cafeteria at Ozarks Community Hospital and are open to the public. Members are asked to park in the back parking lot and enter through the back door. Breakfast will be provided.

Chamber of Commerce meetings

Greater Gravette Chamber of Commerce meets the third Wednesday of each month at 11:30 a.m. at 109 Main Street S.E. in Gravette. Members and guests are asked to arrive at 11:15. Meetings include lunch and are open to the public. Call the chamber at 479-787-8998 for more informatio­n.

Gravette Farmers Market

The Gravette Farmers Market is open each Saturday in Old Town Park. Locally grown fresh fruits and vegetables, plants, eggs, baked goods, honey, jams and jellies, farmraised beef and pork products, woodcrafts and other crafts are available. The market is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. throughout the summer. Anyone interested in setting up a booth should contact Beth Patton, market manager, at 479-787-3313.

Lions Club meetings

Meetings of the Gravette Lions Club are held at 12:30 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of each month at the Billy V. Hall Senior Activity Center. Lunch is available. Visitors are always welcome.

Bella Vista Area Radio Club

The Bella Vista Area Radio Club welcomes those interested in any aspect of the amateur radio hobby. General meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month, and licensing exams are conducted on the second Saturday of each month. Please refer to the club’s website or its Facebook group for the specific time and location, as the club seeks a new venue due to continuing growth. Senior Center art classes

Henzie’s Art Studio holds art classes at the Billy V. Hall Senior Activity Center on the first Thursday of each month. The classes are held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. The cost is $15 for each session, with all supplies (canvas, paints, brushes) provided. Anyone interested in attending classes should sign up in advance. Gentry library hours

Gentry Public Library is now open from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays and holiday eves, and 9 a.m. until noon on Saturdays. The library is closed on holiday weekends.
