Burlsworth legacy to be celebrated Friday

GRAVETTE — A Burlsworth Recognitio­n Night will be held Friday evening, Sept. 30, at Lion Field to honor Brandon Burlsworth’s legacy and commemorat­e the filming of portions of the movie “Greater” at Gravette High School. Members of the Burlsworth family will be in attendance.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held for the installati­on of a permanent plaque on the GHS stadium concession stand. The ribbon cutting will be held at 6:15 p.m. prior to the kickoff of the evening’s football game with Lincoln.

Formal recognitio­n and introducti­on of special guests will be held on the stadium track at Lion Field between the first and second quarters of the football game, and formal recognitio­n of former GHS Burlsworth Award winners will be held there between the third and fourth quarters of the game.

The public is invited.
