Treat yourself at Knead Knot Worry Massage

- DANIEL BEREZNICKI

GENTRY — The ribbon was cut and Knead Knot Worry Massage LLC owner Bianca Dover, a licensed massage therapist, is now taking new clients at her business located at 100 N. Rust Avenue in Gentry.

Present at the ribbon-cutting ceremony were Gentry mayor Kevin Johnston, professional community economic developer Janie Parks, Dover, and Dover’s family.

Whether visitors are looking for a moment of relaxation or treatment to ease pain, Dover has tailored services to fit anyone’s needs.

Before Dover opened her own business, she worked hard to get her license and develop her skills.

“I’ve been working since I graduated in July 2020,” said Dover. “And immediately, I jumped into working with some athletes at the U of A (University of Arkansas) and also taking clients at a clinic over in Fayetteville.”

But when the opportunity came, she decided it was time for her to open up her own place. The location for Knead Knot Worry Massage is just off E. Main Street and around the corner from the Gentry Chamber of Commerce. The location has a big window that displays the company’s sign.

Inside, the lobby has brandnew carpet, cream-colored walls, and a chandelier that hangs above guests as they enter. The massage room is lit with soft lighting to give guests a space to relax.

Dover and her family worked hard to put everything together.

“We spent quite a few days over here, getting stuff hung up and in the right place,” said Stephen Cook, Dover’s partner. “We wanted it to be a very comfortable … place you’d want to come and feel better.”

Even the couple’s children, Evelyn and William DoverCook, helped spruce up the place. William painted pumpkins to give the business a festive look for this year’s Halloween celebration.

Dover’s treatments have a lot of benefits and are focused on the needs of local residents.

“One of the main things that people in our community deal with is things like high blood pressure, depression, anxiety, and a lot of lumbar issues — like in their lower back — and chronic neck pain,” said Dover.

She tailors her service to anyone that has specific needs.

Some of these massages target certain medical conditions and promote health and wellness.

For someone with chronic pain, Dover recommends “Deep Tissue Massage,” which provides relief from aches and pains, whether chronic or acute.

Her “Manual Lymphatic Drainage” helps stimulate the lymphatic flow. The lymphatic system is a part of the immune system, and it helps maintain the body’s fluids. If the lymphatic system is imbalanced, a person will feel sluggish and have a restrictive range of motion. This type of massage will help “reduce swelling and encourages movement of fluids” in the body, she said.

Another service, “Prenatal Massages,” focuses on women during their pregnancy. By using a “gentle approach” to her massages and techniques, she gets the body “better prepared during labor.”

But if clients just want relaxing sessions for themselves. Dover has relaxing massages like Swedish massages and reflexology which “provide the utmost relaxation.”

Dover says Knead Knot Worry is about “therapeutic and goal-oriented massages that really put emphasis on people who have issues throughout life and getting (them) comfortable dealing with those pains.”

But she says she’s easygoing and always tries to find a way to make everybody happy.

This is an exciting time for her and her family.

“Everybody is really proud of her,” said Cook.

Her father, Bill Dover, is especially proud because he’s witnessed her achieve her dream.

“She just enjoys helping people … feel good and do the things they enjoy. Just seeing her be able to chase her dream and open her own business, I’m very proud of her.”

This is an exciting time for Gentry as well. Janie Parks, the economic developer at the Chamber of Commerce, said, “We’re thrilled to have her here in town … We’ve never had (a massage therapist) that was located in an actual location like a brick and mortar store. She’s a really nice gal and the newest member of the Chamber.”
