GENTRY — The annual powderpuff football class competition was held last week Wednesday afternoon in Pioneer Stadium with the junior class girls winning the championship game against the sophomores in a sudden-death playoff, 12-6.
After the juniors defeated the freshmen, 12-6, in the opening game, the sophomores also outdid the seniors by the score of 12-6, setting up the championship contest with shorter, 8-minute halves. And, though both finalists in the championship matchup played strong, it was the junior class that prevailed.
And, looking back to the 2021 powderpuff contest, it was the same class that took the championship as sophomores, defeating the then-senior class, 14-6, and the freshmen, 14-0.
