Don’t believe what they say about marijuana ballot issue

-

Editor,

I am writing in regard to Issue 4, which is going to be on the ballot this next month. It has to do with voting for or against making marijuana legal.

It’s my opinion that a lot of people think, “Oh, hey, once it’s legal, I can go to work with marijuana on my breath.”

I think people should understand that, if it is made legal, you can still lose your job because most employers won’t allow marijuana use in the workplace. I don’t believe McKee Foods will let you smoke joints and then traipse into work, happy as a lark, and cause damage at work or to their food while you are high. You won’t be able to work in most places, so don’t think this is as pretty and wonderful as they are trying to make you think. It just isn’t true.

When the powers that be wanted to make Benton County wet, we were told that everyone would be making money — hand over fist, 25 dollars an hour, everyone will be rich. It hasn’t happened, so don’t believe everything that is being said about this marijuana bill.

Police won’t get millions like they say because they don’t know what can be earned by selling this. So, how can they say, “Police will make 46 million”?

It’s mostly lies. Just remember that!
