Lady Lions pick up more wins last week

GRAVETTE — The Lady Lions defeated the Lady Eagles of Huntsville at Gravette on Thursday, 3-1, in a close, hard-fought contest.

The Gravette girls got by Huntsville, 25-23, in the opening set and 25-19 in the second, but Huntsville came back in the third to grab the set win, 25-20.

The final set of the contest was again a close one, with the Lady Lions taking the win, 25-23.

The win moved the Lady Lions to 19-4-2 overall and 9-4 in conference play.

They play in district tournament­s this week.

Gravette 3 Berryville 1

The Lady Lions were also triumphant on Oct. 11 at Berryville against the Lady Bobcats by a score of 3-1.

The first set was close, with Berryville finally taking the win, 25-23. But Gravette got its game together on the following three sets, outscoring Berryville, 25-19, 25-9 and 25-19, for the match win.
