Gravette Gleamers do well at county fair, Youth Expo
GRAVETTE — Members of Gravette Gleamers 4-H Club had several entries in both the Benton County Fair and the Arkansas Youth Expo the following week in Fayetteville. All entries did well, and the youngsters brought home several trophies and ribbons.
At the county fair, Ayden Jowers took honors for Grand Champion Pasture to Plate steer, and Berkley Jarvis won for Reserve Grand Supreme Heifer. Lauren Venske won Reserve Best of Breed with her Alpine goat, Alexis Venske won first in classes and earned multiple ribbons with her Alpine goats, and Rhett Venske won Best of Breed Alpine goat and Cloverbud Showmanship. Baylor Elsea won first and third ribbons with her breed goat, Lilly McNelly won multiple ribbons with her goats, and Mesa Klingler took second place with her sheep and won the Herdsman award.
Danielle Dillon won Breed Champion with her heifer in the junior and open shows at the county fair, then took her to Arkansas Youth Expo the following week, where she took first place in her class. Jace Dillon’s heifer won Breed Champion in the open show at the county fair, then took first in class at AYE. Jace also won the Kidded by Exhibitor class in the county fair goat show.
Sayer Price showed the Grand Champion Chi heifer at the Arkansas Youth Expo, and Kasandra Tajchman was the Senior Beef Showmanship winner. Brinley Vore showed the Reserve Spot Gilt and Reserve Berkshire Gilt at the county fair and won ribbons at AYE. Whitley Vore showed the Reserve Market Duroc barrow and Reserve Duroc gilt at the county fair and won ribbons with both at AYE.
