Gentry’s water tank among top 12 in contest

GENTRY — The new city water tank on WPA Road didn’t win the contest, but it was among the top 12 finalists in the Tnemec Company’s 2022 Tank of the Year competitio­n. Tnemec Inc., a provider of high-performanc­e coatings, announced that a municipal water tank in Bossier City, La., was the winner of its 2022 Tank of the Year competitio­n.

Over 350 water tanks were nominated, with thousands of online votes cast this year from across the U.S. and Canada.

Valley Center, Kan., was the winner of the People’s Choice competitio­n, with an outstandin­g 3D honeycomb motif created by a local group of urban artists.

Other water tanks among the top 12 finalists for 2022 are in Valley Center, Kan.; Port O’Connor, Texas; Dothan, Ala.; Moorhead, Minn.; Hackensack, Minn.; Gentry, Ark.; Oconomowoc, Wis.; Groveland, Fla.; Crawfordsv­ille, Ind.; St. Croix Falls, Wis.; and Pensacola Beach, Fla.
