Pioneers come up two baskets short

GENTRY — The Pioneers came up two baskets short, 46-42, when they hosted the Life Way Warriors on Thursday night at Gentry High School to open the 2022-2023 basketball season.

The Pioneers were down by one point at the end of the first quarter and at the half, trailing 10-9 in the first and 19-18 at the halfway mark in the contest at Gentry High School.

At the end of the third, the Pioneers were down by four, 32-28. With both teams scoring 14 points in the final quarter, the Pioneers fell to the Warriors by four.

Garrett Jech led the Pioneers with 22 points in the game. Hayden Henry and Dyllen Labitad had six each.
