- WHITNEY DAWN GOCHINAS CHIEF CONCIERGE, THE ADOLPHUS

My adventures in Dallas allow me to tell guests what there is to see and do!

Q: WHAT FALL EVENTS DO YOU RECOMMEND FOR VISITORS?

A: Grapefest is a MUST! It’s got the best elements of a festival such as vintage and artisan shopping, live music, and, of course, WINE. Bring the kids, too; they’ll get to enjoy carnival rides and even take off their shoes for some good old-fashioned grape stomping!

Q: THE STATE FAIR OF TEXAS AND THE COLLEGE FOOTBALL SEASON ARE ABOUT TO KICK OFF, WHICH GENERATES THE MOST EXCITEMENT?

A: Definitely college football. There’s a special energy in the air when generations of alums come together to celebrate the American tradition of competition and revelry.

Q: WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO IN THE CITY ON YOUR DAY OFF?

A: My perfect day off starts at the Dallas Farmer’s Market, where I know my shopping supports the people who invest themselves in their produce and merchandise. In the evening, I love going to Deep Ellum—it’s so rich in musical and culinary experiences as well as the people who express themselves through their eclectic fashions.

Q: FAVORITE LOCAL RESTAURANT(S) FOR A SPECIAL MEAL?

A: Town Hearth for over-the-top Dallas fun, Boulevardier for a cozy neighborhood vibe in Bishop Arts, and, of course, The French Room, for an evening of elegance and romance.
