Do a walk­a­bout around the streets of Wailuku.

His­toric Wailuku, which sits in the lush, jade-col­ored foothills of a Cen­tral Maui for­est re­serve, isn’t nor­mally on the sight­see­ing radar for most Val­ley Isle vis­i­tors. Many peo­ple pass through on the way to ‘Īao Val­ley State Mon­u­ment, but in this old plan­ta­tion town, nearly ev­ery build­ing façade, street and al­cove have a story to tell, re­ward­ing those who are will­ing to stop and lis­ten.
