Old Florida Opulence
Welcome to summertime in South Florida where the seasonal changes are so slight that we don’t fret about the weather. Visiting Palm Beach? Stop in at this must-see historic estate.
Completed in 1902, Whitehall, Henry Flagler’s Palm Beach estate, is a National Historic Landmark open to the public as the Flagler Museum. This fascinating 55-room mansion exemplifies the opulence and grandeur of the Gilded Age. A beautiful place then, and just as magnificent now, highlights include Marble Hall, an imitation of a Roman villa’s atrium; the Louis XIV Music Room; the Rococo-style master suite; Flagler’s railcar and the Café des Beaux-Arts with spectacular panoramic views of Lake Worth and the West Palm Beach skyline.
