Ancient Spanish Monastery
St. Bernard de Clairvaux Episcopal Church is better known as the oldest building in the Western Hemisphere. Built in Spain in 1141, the buildings were brought to America piece-by-piece by William Randolph Hearst, and reassembled by Miami developers at its current site in 1952. The Monastery offers an idyllic setting with its 12th century Romanesque and Gothic architecture and 20-acre formal gardens of rare palms and Spanish Oaks. 16711 Dixie Highway, North Miami Beach, 305.945.1461.
