On a chilly, blue sky morn­ing in 2003, arry Mel­lum opened a lit­tle chow­der house in Seat­tle’s fa­mous Pike Place Mar­ket. With the briny aro­mas waft­ing down the cob­ble­stone streets, isi­tors be­gan lin­ing up for the rich fla ors of ten­der clams and seafood sim­mered with the fresh­est mar­ket egeta­bles and sea­son­ings. To­day, arry wel­comes isi­tors from across the coun­try, and around the world, who come to sa or the small, fra­grant batches of Pa­cific or­th­west fla ors, ser ed with the same lo e and metic­u­lous care as the day he opened his door for the ery first time.
