Keep­ing with the feel of its Ge­orge­town neigh­bor­hood, the 9lb has a solid, charm­ing, work­ing- class vibe. BELL­TOWN PUB

Stop in to this neigh­bor­hood pub and grab a beer and some pub fare. While the beer list isn’t huge, it is thought­fully se­lected. Ex­pect to see a few dogs about—the pub is dog friendly, with a spe­cial dogs- only menu. 2322 First Ave., 206.448.6210.

THE BOOK­STORE BAR & CAFÉ

Ad­ja­cent to the Alexis Ho­tel, this stylish bar has a large se­lec­tion of sin­gle malt Scotch whiskies and Amer­i­can bour­bons. Over­whelmed? En­joy one of their whiskey flights. LINDA’S TAV­ERN

Prob­a­bly the most uni­ver­sally beloved Capi­tol Hill bar, Linda’s has plenty of tables, a great out­door pa­tio, lots of wood and taxi­dermy and an al­ways di­verse mix of peo­ple. Great burg­ers and Bloody Marys, too. 707 E. Pine St., 206.325.1220.

QUAL­ITY ATH­LET­ICS

Tall boys, draft beer and cock­tails meet up­scale bar food (think lamb Philly Cheeses­teaks, duck wings and whole-fish ta­cos) in­clud­ing brunch on the week­ends.
