MARCH 24 – 31
When Milwaukee chef Dan Jacobs was on the verge of opening his first restaurant, DanDan, in the summer of 2016, he was diagnosed with a rare and currently incurable condition known as Kennedy’s Disease. The genetic neuromuscular disease impacts patients’ mobility and ability to speak over time. Rather than dwell on the news, Jacobs used this drastic change in his life to promote awareness of the disease and to raise funds for the Kennedy’s Disease Association.
is a cocktail party-style tasting event that features small plates prepared by 30 chefs from some of the best restaurants in Milwaukee. The event is 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. March 25 at the Italian Community Center, 631 E. Chicago St. Tickets are $65 and can be purchased at eventbrite.com.
