ROCK FOR RENEWABLES: The Midwest Renewable Energy Association lined up five musical acts to play its Energy Fair in Custer, Wisconsin, June 15–17. The entertainment on the “Human-Powered Main Stage” includes People Brothers Band, GGOOLLDD, Patchouli & Terra Guitarra, Stanton West and Galynne & Markondrums. The fair also features more than 250 workshops and 200-plus exhibitors. Connect: TheEnergyFair.org

GLOBAL GATHERING: Indigenous peoples from around the world come together June 28–July 1 for the 17th Protecting Mother Earth Conference featuring workshops, talking circles, evening socials, water ceremonies, farm tours and free camping at Frank’s Landing near Olympia, Washington. The event is presented by Indigenous Environmental Network and Indigenous Climate Action. Connect: PME2018@ienearth.org

PEOPLES CAMPAIGN: Two months before the midterm elections, activists across the country will “Rise for Climate, Jobs and Justice.” The mass mobilization begins Sept. 8 with the Global Climate Action Summit in San Francisco and will roll east across the United States. A COMMON CAUSE: In May, dozens of news anchors on Sinclair Broadcasting stations were forced to read identical statements — warning of “fake news” and backing up President Donald Trump’s anti-journalist demagoguery. Sinclair now wants to expand by merging with the Tribune Media Group. Common Cause is putting massive pressure on Congress, state lawmakers and federal regulators to block the monopolistic merger deal. Connect: commoncause.org

STOP THE BACK 40: The Back 40 Mine would be deeper than Wisconsin’s tallest building, produce 70 million tons of acid-producing waste, consume 84 acres of land, be located 50 yards from the Menominee River and be operated by a company that has never operated a mine. The Sierra Club John Muir Chapter says the mine has preliminary approvals by the state of Michigan, but it cannot move forward if there is not funding and investors behind it. So, the chapter is calling on you to call on investors to back off the Back 40. Connect: www.sierraclub.org/ wisconsin

TRACK TRUMP: Planned Parenthood Action Fund and Planned Parenthood Federation of America launched an innovative new tool to track the ways the Trump-Pence administration has been stripping away reproductive health and rights. The tool includes an interactive website, a Chrome extension and easy ways to share information and take action. Connect: TrackingTrump.org
