Turn plain boxes into trés chic storage!
It’s easy to transform plain boxes from the crafts store into stunning Parisian-look storage! WHAT YOU’LL NEED FOR EACH
❑ 3 round craft boxes, 7 1/2", 9 1/2" and 11 1/2" across
❑ 12"x12" scrapbook papers: 1 sheet light pink, 3 sheets black-and-white stripes; our stripes are 3/4" wide
❑ Black-and-white dotted paper (we used wrapping paper); our dots are 3/4" across
❑ Plaid ® Folkart ® paints: Titanium White, Licorice, Seashell Pink
❑ Mod Podge ® gloss
❑ Beacon Gem-tac glue
❑ White satin wired ribbon: 2 yds. 1 1/2"; 1 yd. 2 1/2"
❑ 3 (2") wooden craft circles
❑ 3 (2") scalloped round die-cuts
❑ 3 (3/4") half-pearls
❑ 57 (3 mm) half-pearls
❑ 93 (3 mm) rhinestones ❑ Hot-glue gun; glue sticks
1 Paint the small lid black, the top of the medium lid white, the rim, black; and the large lid pink. Paint wooden circles black, die-cuts pink. Paint top 2" of small and medium boxes black; large box, pink. 2Brush
Mod Podge onto sides of boxes; let dry. Cut striped paper to fit around small and large boxes, leaving 1" uncovered at top. Large box may need two pieces. Paint a strip of Mod Podge on box and set paper in place. Continue around boxes, painting Mod Podge on one area at a time. Use dotted paper on medium box.
3 Small box: cut pink paper strips width of white stripes; Mod-podge over white stripes. Large box: Cut 3/8" pink paper strips; Mod-podge over striped paper, as shown, for black-pinkwhite-pink pattern. When dry, seal boxes with Mod Podge.
4 Tie two bows with 1 1/2" ribbon; hot-glue to sides of small and medium lids. Repeat with 2 1/2" ribbon and large lid. 5Mod- Podge die-cuts to circles. Glue half-pearls to centers with Gem-tac. Glue small pearls, then rhinestones, around large using Gem-tac and toothpick. Hot-glue medallions to bows.
