Lose 100 lbs eating the #1 fat-melting food!

Dieters and diet experts alike insist that easy-to-make chia pudding can shut down appetite, rev our weight-loss hormones and help us slim down fast!

Did Alabama reader Sarah Dearmond discover the ultimate weight-loss snack? “I found a recipe for chia pudding on Pinterest, and it helped me lose 100 pounds!” reveals the homemaker, 30. “It’s really tasty, so you don’t feel deprived. And since chia expands in your stomach, the pudding keeps you full for a long time. I highly recommend it!” So do diet experts. “Simply put, chia is one of the most effective weight-loss foods in history,” says Bob Arnot, M.D., former chief medical correspondent for NBC News and author of The Aztec Diet. Backing him up: A

brand-new University of Toronto study found that dieters who ate two heaping tablespoons of chia daily lost 533% more weight than a group given oat bran instead. And British research shows that in pudding form, chia has extra hunger- killing power. Slim Down Now author Cynthia Sass, R.D., has used chia pudding to help thousands of women drop up to two pounds a day. “It’s a treat that helps take off a lot of weight. In my book, that’s a real wow!”

Making chia magic!

Chia pudding fans like Sarah typically aim to eat healthy portions of wholesome food, timing their daily servings of pudding strategically to block hunger and cravings when they’re most tempted to cheat. Other women—like 40-year- old mom Kristi, who shed an impressive 20 pounds in 30 days—use chia pudding as a meal replacement. Are all puddings the same? “If your goal is weight loss, I recommend a version that skips added sugar and includes plant-based protein powder,” says Sass. Wellness Mama.com’s Katie Wells is sharing a great recipe you can customize to suit your tastes, right— and our nutrition

team has worked it into a no-fuss (and also highly customizable) quick-loss plan. You can start losing right away!

How chia slims

One big advantage of chia pudding is that it’s yummy and easy to make ahead, enticing people to enjoy chia regularly, says Sass. That said, you can add chia to meals or snacks any way you like— in smoothies, salads, oatmeal, yogurt, even casseroles—and you’ll still get these benefits:

The lap-band effect

“Just one ounce of chia packs ten grams of fiber, nine grams of healthy fat and almost five grams of protein— an exceptionally satiating combination,” notes Sass. Dr. Arnot adds that “chia seeds absorb fluid, expanding in your stomach to roughly seven times their original size. Then they remain there, making you feel full for hours.” Chia also has zero impact on blood sugar, “so it helps prevent spikes in blood sugar that can trigger intense hunger and cravings.” Put it all together, and you get a hunger- suppression effect similar to the one triggered by lap-band weight-loss surgery!

● A spike in fat-loss hormones

During University of Toronto testing, chia eaters experienced a spike in adiponectin, a hormone that helps the body break down fat. Tiny-waist bonus: Low levels of adiponectin increase belly-fat storage, while high adiponectin has the opposite effect. In the recent study, chia dieters lost 218% more ab flab than other dieters— even though all dieters were getting the same calories! ● Sugar blocking and metabolism boosting By blocking blood- sugar spikes, chia helps the body cut down on insulin, a hormone that aggressively stores extra sugar and carbs we eat as fat. On top of that, the Toronto scientists found chia dramatically reduced signs of irritation and inflammation in indi- vidual cells—and the less cellular inflammation we have, the more freely our cells are able to burn calories. Says Arnot: “Chia boosts metabolism!”

● Energy to burn In ancient times, chia was used like coffee or Red Bull. That’s how energizing it is—yet with no jittery side effects. One key reason: “Spiking and falling blood- sugar levels cause extreme fatigue, and chia eliminates that while providing slow-release fuel,” explains Dr. Arnot. “Plus, chia’s anti-inflammatory effect is so good for brain health, it boosts mood.” The bottom line: Chia will make you more active without realizing it, helping you burn lots of calories and build metabolism-boosting muscle.

Suzanne Beaird says she experienced the mood and energy boost firsthand. “Going low- carb or low- cal has always made me grouchy, spacey and exhausted,” says the California mom with two grown daughters. With chia, “I was revved up and in great spirits. I could eat less, and I felt amazing.” She quickly shrunk by a dress size and has kept it off. “I think everyone will be very surprised by how well this works!”
