HOOK UP WITH AN AGENCY!

The best way to start is to join a travel agency that specializes in Disney vacations, says Sue Pisaturo, owner of Small World Vacations, a company that specializes in planning Disney vacations. Companies like hers, Mousesavers and Mickey Vacations are good options— and many let you work from home! Just be sure that they feature “authorized” Disney travel agents. This means by joining you’ll get access to Disney’s official training program and online dashboard (Disneytravelagents. com), and you’ll be searchable on their database (Authorized Disneyvacation Planners.com). In exchange for their help learning the ins and outs of travel booking, as well as access to the pro planning tools, you share a cut of the commission with the agency.

DRUM UP BUSINESS!

“The best way to attract clients is through word- of-mouth referrals,” Pisaturo says. It’s wise to advertise your services in print, too— school bulletins, parent publications or library billboards are great options— as well as on Disney fan websites. One not to miss: The Disney Parks Moms Panel (Disneyparks Momspanel.disney. Go.com), which fields questions and recommendations from tens of thousands of Disney family vacation aficionados. You can also post sample itineraries on Facebook and Pinterest with your contact information on them. To make yourself stand out, try to come up with fun, unique itineraries —for example, a vacation that prioritizes the Animal Kingdom for animal-loving vacations, a romantic-themed Disney vacation for honeymooners, one that features all the parades, etc.

✔ KEEP UP ON ALL THE LATEST INFO!

“Our team of agents is constantly keeping up-to- date with what’s happening at Disney,” Pisaturo says. “Every day, we read official and unofficial online Disney sources, such as Touring Plans.com, Mousesavers.com, Disneycruiselineblog.com and Disneytravelagents.com.” Also smart? Join Facebook groups for Disney lovers and sign up for Disney-related newsletters— that way, you’re sure to be an expert in all things related to the parks!
