My Guardian Angel

When Woman’s World reader, Anna Cleveland, of Gastonia, North Carolina, was driving home from work, she called upon the angels to help her avoid a car accident—and they did! She writes:

-

I’ve always been a creature of habit, always taking the same route to and from work.

But one day, after a long stressful week, I hoped a change of scenery would be just the thing to get my weekend off to a good start and took a different route home.

Unfortunately, my mind was distracted by errands that needed to be done. Suddenly, there was a red light glaring in front of me, and I was driving a little too fast to stop. I could see another car approaching from a side street, and I knew we were going to crash.

The only thing I could think to do was floor the accelerator and hope to get through the intersection before we collided.

“I gasped as my car sped up faster than when it was brand-new!” Anna marvels

But my car was old. It always took a few seconds to pick up speed. My heart pounding, I floored the accelerator and prayed desperately. “Angels, help me!” I cried, bracing myself for the crash.

But to my amazement, my car sped up faster than when it was brand-new! I zoomed through the intersection, and I caught a glimpse of the other car passing safely behind me in my rearview mirror.

I was shaking so badly that I couldn’t hold the steering wheel steady. So I pulled into a parking lot and got out of my car and walked around, allowing the breeze to cool me while I got my bearings.

A few minutes later, as I returned to my car, I caught my foot on something. I looked down, and there, wedged in my shoelace, was a pure white feather! I knew from reading the “My Guardian Angel” column that angels often sent feathers to let you know they are there.

“Thank you, guardian angels,” I cried, continuing my journey home. I still have the feather and when I look at it, my eyes well up with tears because I know the angels saved me from what could have been a horrific car crash.

“Guardian angels certainly are with Anna, watching over and protecting her as they are for all of us!” says Doreen Virtue, PHD. “How like the angels to leave their signature calling card of a feather, so that Anna would know that she’s never alone!

“Anna’s story shows the power of prayer, especially when you’re in a situation where nothing or no one else can rescue you. I admire Anna, and anyone else who remembers to ask for Heavenly help during a crisis. These prayers open the doorway for Heaven to respect our free will choice to receive Divine intervention.

“Only angels could have saved Anna from a car crash! How else could an older car suddenly have the acceleration power of a new car? I can see the angels giving Anna’s car a big push to get her safely through the intersection.

“The angels say: ‘We are able to defy all Earthly logic, to protect you in your time of need.’ ”
