Make a fun teepee for little friends!

It’s so easy to create a secret hideaway for your little ones— no sewing required! “Just pick up inexpensive PVC pipe from the hardware store and some fabric from the craft store . . . and you’re all set,” says Beth Hunter, the creative designer behind Ho

WHAT YOU’LL NEED: ❑ 2 yds. each of four fabrics (Beth used a selection of fabrics from Waverly) 4 pieces of 1" PVC pipe, each cut to 6' long. Nylon rope, 3/8"-wide White masking tape Drill and 3/8" bit Binder clips Hot glue 1 Measure about 6" from the end of each pipe and drill a hole straight through from one side to the other. 2 Create an “X” with two of the pipes, line up the holes. Then knot the end of the rope and thread it through the holes using a figure-eight pattern. Beth wrapped the ends of the rope with masking tape to keep them from fraying and make it easier to thread through the holes. Then thread the third and fourth pipe to the first two creating the framework for your teepee. 3Place

the bottom (feet) of your teepee to form a square that fits into your room (Beth chose 43"). Wrap the top of your teepee with a shawl of fabric as shown. Secure the top to the pipes with binder clips. Then “hem” the edges of the shawl with hot glue or attach ribbon to finish the edges. 4 Create a front panel for your teepee by wrapping it with your second fabric as shown. Secure it with clips, then hot glue and remove clips. Cut a slit up the middle. “Hem” edges of fabric by folding them in and securing with hot glue.

5 Create a back panel, same as the front panel (minus the slit) using your third fabric. 6 Cut your fourth fabric in half and wrap, then clip pieces to create right and left sides. Secure and hem with hot glue. Remove clips. Glue top of shawl to poles. Remove clips. (If there are gaps in your teepee, lengthen your shawl by gluing scraps of fabric to the bottom of the shawl.)
