My Guardian Angel

When Woman’s World reader, Brooke Pittman, of Lane, Oklahoma, was lost in the woods, she asked the angels for help, and they sent a very special guide. She writes:

-

Iwas very close to my grandfather. He doted on me and I adored him. Sadly, he passed away when I was only seven years old. And just two years later, I also lost my father. Losing the two most important men in my life at an early age was heartbreaking. Yet I still felt their presence— as though they were watching over me.

When I was 12, I went on vacation with relatives. One day, we went to a state park and, somehow, I became separated from the group.

I wandered around in the woods for hours, confused and frightened. All I wanted was my mother, but she was 1,300 miles away in Texas. What if I never see her again? I panicked.

“The man looked a lot like my grandfather, and I instantly felt calm!” Brooke marvels

As I sat under a tree, crying my eyes out, I knew that Mom would be worried sick when she learned I was lost. I began to pray that my daddy and grandpa would help me.

All of a sudden, an elderly man walking a dog appeared out of nowhere and asked if I needed help. Even through my tears, I could see that he looked a lot like my grandfather, and I instantly felt calm. I explained what had happened and told him I needed to fi nd a phone to call my mom.

He gently put his hand on my shoulder, telling me not to be afraid. And, looking into his eyes, I felt completely safe.

He led me two miles through the woods to the park ranger station where I was able to call my mom and let her know that I was okay. When I hung up, I turned around to thank the kind gentleman but he was gone! He had disappeared as quickly as he appeared.

A park ranger took me to my family who were anxiously waiting for word from the search party.

It was the happiest moment of my life! Although this happened many years ago, I still remember it clearly. I am sure that the man who led me out of the woods was an angel, perhaps my grandfather, who helped me get back safely to my family.

“Our guardian angels can take on temporary human form to help us, especially when we are too frightened to hear their subtle guidance,” says Doreen Virtue, PH.D. “The angels knew that Brooke would re- spond best to seeing a person who resembled her beloved grandfather, so the angel took on that form.

“When a stranger suddenly appears to help, you can be almost certain that they are really an angel! Especially when they seem to know all the details of the situation, and disappear without a trace. And this is certainly what happened for Brooke!

“Another characteristic of an angel experience is that you vividly remember it, even many years later, as Brooke does. Having an encounter like this is life- changing because you know that you’re never alone!

“The angels say: ‘We are sent to you as guardians and protectors to watch over you in unlimited ways.’ ”
