Warm up with creamy Norwegian porridge!
Breakfasting on piping-hot rømmegrøt— a sweet ’n tangy Norwegian porridge—is a delicious way to warm you up for hours!
❑ 1 2/3 cups sour cream
❑ 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
❑ 5 1/4 cups whole milk
❑ 3/4 tsp. salt
❑ Sugar and ground cinnamon, to taste
In pot, simmer sour cream, covered, over medium heat, stirring often, 15 minutes. Sift in 1/3 of flour; simmer until butterfat rises to top. Spoon off butterfat; reserve. Stir remaining flour into pot; bring mixture to a boil. In separate pot, bring milk to a boil; add to sour cream mixture to thin to desired consistency; whisk until smooth. Simmer 10 minutes; season with salt. Serve topped with reserved butterfat, sugar and cinnamon.
