The classic cinnamon cookie gets dressed up for the holidays with red and green sugars! 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour 1 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar 1 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp. salt 2 tsp. ground cinnamon 1 cup butter, softened 1 1/3 cups granulated sugar 2 eggs 1/4 cup green sanding sugar 1/4 cup red sanding sugar

Preheat oven to 400°F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper. Stir together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, salt and 1 tsp. cinnamon. Beat butter and granulated sugar at medium speed until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs. Gradually add flour mixture to butter mixture, beating at low speed just until blended.

Mix green sanding sugar and 1/2 tsp. cinnamon in small bowl. Mix red sanding sugar and remaining 1/2 tsp. cinnamon in another small bowl. Shape dough into 1 1/4" balls. Roll half of balls in green sugar mixture; roll remaining balls in red sugar mixture. Place balls 2" apart on baking sheets. Bake 12-14 minutes or until set. Cool on baking sheets 2 minutes. Transfer to racks; cool completely, about 20 minutes. Makes 42 cookies.
