Dunkable Chocolate Chip Cookie Sticks!

-

Kara Cook of Creationsbykara.com was inspired to create crispy, buttery cookie sticks that bake up fast and are fantastic for dunking after watching her kids break up cookies to fit into mugs of hot cocoa! Adults love ’em, too, with hot tea and coffee!

Cream butter and sugar in large bowl. Beat in egg and vanilla and almond extracts. Stir in 2 3/4 cups flour, baking powder and chocolate chips. Add more flour as needed until dough isn’t sticky. (Kara used all 3 cups.) Cover dough; chill for at least 30 minutes.

Preheat oven to 375°F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper or Silpat baking mats. Roll dough out on lightly floured surface into rectangle shape that is about 1/4" thick. Cut dough into 4"x1" strips.

Place strips on baking sheets. Bake 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned on bottom edges.

Let sit on pans for a couple minutes, then remove to cooling racks. Cool cookies completely.

Melt each flavor of chocolate chips in a separate plastic ziptop sandwich bag in microwave at half power. Snip one corner of each bag and drizzle over tops of cookies. Add sprinkles. Makes about 4 dozen cookie sticks.

Make sure your butter is very soft and that you use a large egg, otherwise your dough may be too dry. It should be stiff but not crumbly. — Kara Cook of Creationsbykara.com.
