Make a boho-chic dreamcatcher!

It’s so easy to create your own boho-chic dreamcatcher! “Do you have a vintage doily from a grandma or aunt?” says crafter Melanie of Artzycreations.com. “Don’t hide it in a drawer—turn it into this dreamcatcher!”

WHAT YOU’LL NEED White or cream crocheted or lace doily (ours is about 14") Embroidery hoop slightly smaller than doily (ours is 12") Glue gun and hot glue Colored leather, suede or felt about 6"x12" About 2 yds. suede lace cording to match leather or felt Fine gold wire (optional) ❏ 18-24 strips of white and/or cream narrow lace trimming, yarn or ribbon in varied lengths up to about twice as long as your hoop is wide (ours are 18"-24") 1Stretch

the doily over the inner ring of the embroidery hoop and slip the outer ring over it. Adjust doily to avoid any over-stretching or distorting of the lace pattern, then use the embroidery hoop’s screw to tighten. Note: Check the doily’s design when adding the outer ring; the screw should be top center. 2Trim

the doily’s edges leaving about 1/2"; then hotglue the edges around the back, to the inside of the hoop. 3Cut

leather, suede or felt into 9 pieces, each 2"x4". Cut each piece into a feather shape. Each should look a little different. 4Cut

the suede lace cording into 3 strips, one strip s l ight ly shorter than the l onge s t lace/trimm ing strip, the others 2" and 3" shorter than that. Hotglue a feather to the bottom of each suede strip. Then hot-glue two more to each strip, staggering their placement. If you like, wrap gold wire around feather and suede lace where they join. 5Tie or hot-glue the strips of t rimming, etc., across the bottom of the hoop, mixing up styles and lengths, placing the longest feather strip in the center, the other two near the outside edges.
