Eat an orange a day!

An apple a day might keep the doctor away, but an orange a day keeps wrinkles at bay! The fruit is supercharged with 88% of your RDA of vitamin C, which repairs the damage responsible for wrinkles from the inside out, leaving your skin looking tighter and brighter! “Vitamin C is a potent antioxidant that works like a fire extinguisher to put out inflammation caused by free radicals,” says Manhattan dermatologist Joshua Zeichner, M.D.

Smooth on coconut oil!

Think you have to spend big bucks to get a night cream that works wonders? Not so! Researchers who compared coconut oil to ingredients found in pricey face creams determined that the medium-chain fatty acids in coconut oil protect your skin from wrinkling as well as (or better!) than commercial anti- aging creams. “Coconut oil is extremely moisturizing, and those super- hydrating properties can help prevent wrinkles,” confirms Skin Rules author Debra Jaliman, M.D. Before bed each night, simply massage in a small amount of organic coconut oil. The oil’s lipids will form a protective barrier that seals in hydration while its linoleic acid repairs your skin while you slumber.

Opt for mineral makeup!

Of course, using sunscreen with SPF is essential when you’re at the pool or beach. But did you realize that 78% of wrinkle-inducing sun damage occurs during ordinary activities like sitting by a window! “Even small amounts of sun exposure have a cumulative effect on the skin,” says Dr. Jaliman. Her fix: Apply SPF- infused moisturizer every morning, followed by mineral foundation or powder to form an opaque barrier that reflects UV light away from your skin. One option: Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Airbrushing Pressed Powder, $12.79, Amazon.com.

Check your vision!

Not using glasses if you need them (or using too weak lenses) makes you more apt to frown and squint, the primary causes of crow’s-feet! The solution: Mark your calendar for a yearly eye appointment to ensure you can see well without squinting. And request “variable- tint” glasses that automatically change from clear to tinted when you step out into brighter light that might otherwise make you squint.
