My Guardian Angel

When Woman’s World reader Marie Miller of Laconia, New Hampshire, needed comfort, she asked the angels for help, and they answered in a most surprising way! She writes:

“Mom sent me three signs that let me know she is watching over me!” Marie marvels

My mother was very spiritual. She believed in angels and that our loved ones in Heaven are always watching over us.

In 2012, Mom suffered a stroke and went into a coma. We all prayed that she’d come back to us, but as days passed with no change, we realized we were going to lose her.

One evening after almost two weeks, my husband and I pulled into a 7-Eleven for coffee, and a yellow swallowtail butterfly landed on our car.

Mom loved butterflies, and I knew it was a sign from the angels that she would soon make her journey into Heaven. The following morning, Mom crossed over.

How can I live without you? I sobbed. “Please, God, send me a sign that my mother is happy and well,” I prayed.

That night, I dreamed that Mom called me on the phone.

“Hi Marie, it’s Mom,” she

said. “Tell the family not to worry about me because I am happy and well! I can’t talk but a second, but remember I love you.”

With those words, I awoke with a deep sense of peace. I knew in my heart that Mom was all right.

After the funeral, my husband and I went out of town for a few days.

When we returned, I immediately began to water my plants and was surprised to find an angel figurine in one of the flowerpots.

No one could have left it for me because I hadn’t asked anyone to care for my plants while we were away. Yet there was a beautiful angel looking up at me. As I picked it up, my heart swelled as I realized this gift was another sign from Mom, letting me know that she was watching over us.

“The angels’ love for Marie was so encompassing that it took on many forms,” says Kyle Gray.

“Angels often send butterflies to let us know that the person we’re missing and praying for is happy and free.

“They also love to use the dream state to communicate with us and will often send messages via phone calls to remind us that they are only a prayer away.

“Those signs, along with the angel in the potted plant, all show that Marie’s mother had a strong faith and that everything she had always believed was in fact true.

“I am so happy for Marie that she was open to receive these messages of pure love and know that they will remain with her forever.”
