5 so-easy ways to bank $500

-

It’s easier and a lot more fun than you may think to bring in hundreds in extra cash! We asked the work-from-home (or at least very close to home!) pros for their favorite ways to easily earn more! 1

“There are a ton of opportunities to freelance at home,” promi s es moneymaking expert Jim Wang. “For example, data entry is an easy way to take your ability to type and turn it into cash. The company sends you an audio file, which you type out and send back. The simplest way to get started is to do a Google search for ‘freelance transcriber jobs.’” Also smart: Find reputable data entry gigs at Thebalance Careers.com/ Legitimate-dataEntry-jobs-from-home-3542500.

Teach English with Qkids!

“Consider doing some online English tutoring to Chinese children for Qkids.com,” encourages work-from-home pro Anna Thurman. “At $16 to $20 an hour, it’s very possible to earn $500 per month. And while most tutoring sites require a college degree, you can tutor with Qkids even if you don’t have one yet but are enrolled in college classes,” she says. Help young readers! “Sign up at Literably.com for non-phone, whenever-youwant-to work,” says Thurman. “Literably has created classroom tools for teachers to help monitor students’ progress in reading. The software scores part of the student’s reading aloud to help save the teacher time. As a work-at-home scorer, you listen to audio of students’ reading, then type their reading errors. You can make $10 hourly or even more as you gain speed, easily helping you hit that $500 goal.”

2 Let fun pay!

Pet-sit the easy way! “If you love animals, consider starting a pet-sitting service,” urges Wang, who earns up to $1,200 per month pet-sitting and dog-walking on the side. “Visit sites like Rover. com and Care.com to get started.” Another way to get the word out: Head to Facebook! “My sister-in-law moved to my home city of Seattle, and she didn’t know anyone but wanted to start pet-sitting,” says expert Gina Fresquez. “So I went on my Facebook page and posted that she was looking for gigs. Just poll your ‘tribe’ and you’ll find lots of opportunities!”

Cash in on creativity!

“Almost anything you can think of can turn a profit,” says expert Nick Loper. “For example, a friend of mine who was planning her vineyard wedding couldn’t find the wine-themed décor she wanted, so she made her own. She got so many compliments at her wedding that she now has an Etsy store selling things like wine-cork place-card holders!” In short, the only thing separating you from someone profiting from her creativity is the belief that you can do it!
