Get paid to surf the Web!
Surprised at how much time you spend surfing the Web? You can turn those minutes into money: Simply sign up with a company to be a website or app tester, and you can earn from $12 to $30 an hour! Here’s how to get started:
● 1 Apply, apply, apply!
Get frustrated when a website or app doesn’t work right? No problem speaking your mind? You’ve got what it takes to be a website or app tester—that’s when a company pays for your opinions to help make their websites and apps more user-friendly! To start, sign up at Usertesting.com, Userlytics.com, Testingtime.com or Userfeel.com.
● 2 Rev earnings!
Much as with focus groups, companies look for testers who fit certain demographic criteria. For example, do you play games online? Are you in the market for a car? Always use the same travel site? To make yourself as in demand as possible, fi ll out your profi le fully, mentioning details, hobbies and habits that could make you a fit for any number of tests. “The more we know about you, the more testing opportunities you’ll receive,” confirms Theresa Mandarino of Usertesting.
● Earn top ratings!
As a tester, you’ll be evaluated for the quality of your work—the higher your score, the more eligible you’ll become for higherpaying gigs! So follow directions and be thorough in your evaluations. Some companies may require you to video-chat to speak to a moderator as you navigate through the site. “The best testers speak their thoughts out loud and tell the moderator what they’re thinking and why,” says Usertesting’s Ethan Allison. “And don’t just talk about what you like about a site; tell what you don’t like or find confusing, as well.”
