CONNECT THE COLORS

“When you have a space with two or three solid statement colors, like the reds, oranges and greens here, it’s nice to display patterned curtains or rugs that connect or tie the hues together,” says Baer. “It’s an easy way to establish a cohesive feel throughout the room!”

ENHANCE COMFORT

“Setting the scene for holiday guests is easier than you think,” assures Baer. All you need is coziness and a few pops of color, she says. A quick way to bring in both: layering extra accent pillows and throws in varied hues and textures, from fuzzy wool to flannel.

TRY A GALLERY WALL

“The first trick to a successful art wall is setting borders,” says Baer. “Simply use pencil marks to define the perimeter of the space you want to fill in.” Then to see which grouping looks best, play with frame placement (on the floor or a table) before hanging. Also smart: Add a hit of color by layering a piece of cut-to-fit scrapbook paper behind each print as matting.

ADD SEASONAL FLAIR

Leaves, branches, greenery…your backyard offers all the festive décor you need to dress up your home, says Baer. These elements bring in eye- catching texture and seasonal style— for free! No-fuss ideas: pine cones piled into soup bowls and greenery tucked in pitchers.
