money for a va­ca­tion? In a Jour­nal of Con­sumer Psy­chol­ogy study, peo­ple who did so stuck with new habits for more than six months! Why? “When asked about a fu­ture be­hav­ior, we tend to re­call so­ci­etal ex­pec­ta­tions about that be­hav­ior, as well as times we ‘should’ have en­gaged in that be­hav­ior and didn’t,” says study au­thor Ioan­nis Kareklas, PH.D. “These thoughts can in­flu­ence fu­ture ac­tions.”
