Harvest good health!

-

Today is the perfect day to plant easy-togrow herbs that deliver mind and body benefits. We asked Tammi Hartung, author of Homegrown Herbs, for her picks for the best herbs to grow. Her top three: lemon balm, thyme and nettle. “A tablespoon of fresh lemon balm leaves can be chopped up and added to a bowl of fruit to soothe an upset stomach,” says Hartung. Add thyme, an herb known for its antimicrobial benefits, to foods like chicken or cooked veggies. Finally, try incorporating nettle into teas and soups. “Nettle is an excellent wholebody tonic herb,” says Hartung. “It’s used for challenges like allergies, supporting good digestion, for clear skin and more.”
