Circle of kindness
Readers share little reminders of how much goodness there is in the world
“SOMETHING GOOD ALWAYS COMES FROM DOING THE RIGHT THING!”
When I approached the register at a store recently, I noticed that the person before
me had left her wallet at the counter. I immediately brought it to the attention of the sales clerk. I have actually found several purses, wallets and credit cards in the past, and I’ve always tried to help return them to their owner. A short time later as I was leaving the store, I noticed the lady who had returned for her wallet. When the clerk told her that I had turned the wallet in, she assured me that something good would be coming my way. It felt so good just to help— her gratefulness made my day! — Catherine Staub, Escondido, CA
“THEIR KINDNESS CAME FULL CYCLE!”
I started bicycling to strengthen my muscles in preparation for a major operation. But after taking a road
side spill, I was fearful. I considered buying a stationary bike, but where would I put it in my tiny apartment? That afternoon, a friend called. Upon hearing about my dilemma, she said, “I used to have a mini-cycling machine that you pedal while seated in a chair. But I gave it to a neighbor. Let me see if he still uses it.” Soon after, my phone rang…and I was pedaling in my living room before the sun set thanks to her kindness that went full cycle!

“HER SMILE KEPT ME COMPANY ON MY TRIP HOME!”
I live in a retirement community and was standing in line to purchase tickets for a
community dinner. I had just gotten to the front of the line when I was told they were not accepting cash. Unfortunately, I only had cash with me. I said I would go back home to get a check, but I was worried that by the time I got back, there might not be any tickets left. The lady that had been in front of me, who I barely knew, heard my dilemma and said she would write a check for me. I thanked her and gave her my cash. If it were not for her, I may not have been able to attend the function. I hope I can do a good deed for her someday!
