Woman's World

7 days of inspiration

-

When Woman’s World reader Leslie Gantos of Lake Forest, Illinois, gave birth to a seemingly healthy baby girl, an angel alerted her to a life-threatening issue. She writes:

When I became pregnant with my second child, I was thrilled and excited. I felt wonderful throughout my pregnancy and had an easy delivery. My husband and I were full of joy to have such a beautifully perfect daughter.

However, about an hour after her birth, I felt a guiding presence by my side that urged me to ask to have a blood test done on my new bundle of joy. I buzzed for the nurse, and made my request. She looked at me very oddly and asked why I would want her blood tested. I actually had no idea, but something made me blurt out, “I believe she’s jaundiced!” The nurse replied, “Newborns don’t get jaundice until they are a day or two old!” I again felt a presence urging me to get her blood tested. So I asked if she would just do the test.

The nurse sighed and said she’d be back. After an hour, I buzzed again and repeated my request. She said she would check with my doctor. A half

hour later, she still hadn’t returned. I am not normally a pushy person, but something was telling me the test was necessary so I buzzed again.

“A day doesn’t go by that I don’t thank my wonderful guardian angel for saving my daughter’s life!”

This time, a different nurse responded. She told me the other nurse had gone off duty but had left word that I might need a psychological evaluation.

With tears in my eyes, I pleaded with the woman to please run the test. She finally said, “Honey, if I do, will you just stop?” I replied, “Absolutely!”

She picked up my daughter and was off. Within an hour, she came back with a doctor. He explained my baby had a very rare blood disorder and would have died within hours had they not run the blood test. The nurse hugged me and with tears in her eyes said, “You have a wonderful guardian angel! Always listen to her!”

Four blood transfusions later, my daughter was perfectly healthy! She is now 15 years old, and a day doesn’t go by that I don’t thank my wonderful guardian angel!

ANGEL EXPERT KYLE GRAY SAYS…

“If the angels see us in a situation that could jeopardize our life path, they will send a wave of grace and inspiration to guide us to safety. I believe a wave of grace washed over Leslie this day because the angels knew her baby girl was in danger— and that Leslie’s life would be forever altered if she lost her precious newborn. They wanted her baby to be safe and well! And thanks to their intervention, her daughter is thriving today. Thank God for the angels!”
