CARVE OUT A CORNER

“You don’t need a huge patio to set up a serene outdoor lounge area,” says Kimbrough. Her advice? Define your seating area by partitioning off any yard corner with a privacy screen (like the airy ORE Room Divider, $ 60, Homedepot.com). Then surround a simple coffee table with a sofa and chairs. “These indoor comforts make any outdoor space feel luxurious!”

ADD AN ‘ANCHOR’

“An area rug is the easiest way to tie a seating area together,” says Kimbrough. She suggests choosing a rug that’s at least 1 foot longer than your sofa on either side. “This helps anchor your conversation space.”
