Candace Cameron Bure first stole our hearts as D.J. Tanner on Full House in the late ’80s, and has since blossomed into a talented actress, author, mom and role model for millions. But despite her success, Candace admits she still struggles with self-doubt and fear. Here, how focusing on love and learning to trust her gut keeps her confident, brave and blissful!

Candace Cameron Bure has come a long way from her days as a beloved child star. With her radiant smile and a heartfelt sincerity that touches every fan, friend and family member, she has inspired millions, not just as an actress, but as an author, producer, director, entrepreneur and even as a contestant on Dancing with the Stars.

“I was scared out of my mind on that show!” Candace laughs as she sits down with Woman’s World. “I had never danced before, let alone in front of so many people. I like to feel prepared, so doing something I’m not necessarily good at, or that I haven’t done before, is terrifying. It causes a lot of insecurity and fear.”

Though the list of things Candace is not good at is a short one, that fear has been present at every turn. “Every day of my life, I experience a lack of self-confidence,” she admits. “But I think we all experience that from time to time. The important thing is to push through it—fake it until you make it, even! Don’t let anything hold you back from achieving your dreams and goals.”

Today, Candace has found the secret to finding balance, inspiration and peace, while still chasing her dreams. “I’m much more thoughtful about what I want to do now,” she shares. “Taking the time to really think it through gives everything so much more meaning!” And she’ll need that sense of certainty now more than ever with a new children’s book, Grow, Candace, Grow, debuting in January, the recent launch of her Cookcraft cookware line and readying for the upcoming hustle of the holidays.

“With everything I do, I just want to reflect love,” Candace says with a smile. “We’re in this life together, so let’s do what we can to respect one another, promote kindness and love each other.” Here, Candace’s secrets to finding confidence, joy and bliss all year long!
