“A SIMPLE HELLO MADE HIM HAPPY!”

My husband and I like to take walks in our

neighborhood. Recently, as we were on one of our strolls, we saw a man cleaning out the bed of his pickup truck. We didn’t know him. But like we often do when we pass people on our walks, we called out to the man, “Hello, how are you today?” He looked up with such a surprised expression on his face and said, “Thank you for speaking to me. So many people walk by now and don’t even speak to one another. I appreciate your taking the time to say hello.” We were struck by how our simple hello had made the man so happy. It goes to prove that even a small act of kindness can make a big impact!
