Woman's World

My guardian angel

When Woman’s World reader Donna Hamilton was missing her dad, he sent a beautiful sign of love to warm her heart! She writes:

-

My dad was a very hardworking man, but he was not a very affectionate man. In fact, he never told me he loved me, although I always knew he did.

In 2008, my dad had a heart attack, followed by a stroke. For the next three years, he was in and out of the hospital. Each time, he became angrier and angrier about his circumstances. He had to give up driving and could hardly do anything for himself or any of the things he used to love to do.

One day, when I visited, he started crying. He said he didn’t want to be like this anymore and he did not want to be a burden to my mom. I told him he was not a burden, and that we all loved him very much and God does too. We talked a bit about God and Heaven, and I was able to lead him in the Sinner’s Prayer.

Soon after, Mom called in hospice. By now he slept most of the time and did not talk much anymore. But one day, as Mom was sitting with him, he woke up and said, “Carol, do you see that?” My mom asked him what he saw, and he said, “Over in the corner is the most beautiful rainbow I ever saw in my life! Get my coat. I have to go, but you have to stay here!”

My dad passed away two days later. For weeks after, I was very distraught. I missed him terribly. I needed to know he was all right. I prayed for him to send me a sign that he was happy and okay.

Then one day, my husband and I were driving. It was a perfectly sunny day, and suddenly, I saw the most beautiful rainbow I had ever seen!

“Honey, look!” I cried as I pointed to the sky. I had, at that moment, the greatest sense of peace and comfort. I knew Dad was telling me that he was in Heaven and was okay.

Now every time I see a rainbow, I know it is my dad saying, “Hello! I love you!”

ANGEL EXPERT KYLE GRAY SAYS… “Rainbows are the universal angel sign of promise. When a rainbow appears, it is a message letting us know that everything is and will be okay. When Donna’s father saw the rainbow in the corner of the room that day, he was seeing the rainbow bridge that he would soon cross over into the heart of God. And from the comfort of Heaven, he sent a rainbow to Donna to let her know that he was indeed okay. He continues to send rainbows whenever she needs reassurance that God, her dad and the angels are with her, guiding the way. What a heartwarming story.”

“It was a perfectly sunny day, and I saw the most beautiful rainbow I had ever seen!”
