Woman's World

My guardian angel

When Woman’s World reader Lynne Kornecki’s son was nervous about moving for a new job, her father reassured him from Heaven! She writes:

-

Both of my sons were very close to their grandfather—my dad, Lincoln—who passed away at age 91 in 2012. And even though both boys were well into their 30s when he passed away, they were hard hit by his loss and frequently reminisced about how much they missed him.

Fast-forward to 2020 when my entrepreneurial son, Doug, decided to begin an out-of-state business venture almost 1,000 miles away in Florida. I drove to Florida with him, and during the ride, he shared with me that he felt a great deal of anxiety about the project.

As we neared our destination, we stopped for an overnight visit with Doug’s friends Jeff and Julie. The next morning, before hitting the road again, Doug had to make some business calls and stepped into a quieter part of the house. When he rejoined us a little later, he had an elated and vastly relieved look on his face. Holding out his phone, he said, “Look at this photo!”

While Doug had talked on the phone, he’d glanced down and was so startled at what he saw that he snapped a picture. The sunshine streaming through the draperies had formed a perfectly shaped

exclamation point next to his feet. Positioned inside the exclamation point period was a Lincoln penny, face up.

We were all astonished. Jeff said he had vacuumed that room right before we’d arrived. He vouched that there wasn’t a penny on the floor or he would have spotted it.

Later, when we got to Doug’s new office, he found yet another penny inside a drawer.

The next day, his father came to visit. Doug shared the penny story, and an odd look crossed Bob’s face. “As I drove here, I stopped for gas,” he said. “As I went to get back into my car, I looked down, spotted a penny and for some reason picked it up.”

Laying the penny on the coffee table in front of Doug, Bob told him, “I think this was meant for you. Add it to your business venture collection—looks like it has someone’s blessing.”

“Positioned right beside his feet was a penny— face up!”
