● The play Cat on a Hot Tin Roof debuted in 1955. The Oscarnominated film starring Elizabeth Taylor came three years later.
● New York City’s first St. Patrick’s Day parade took place in 1762. Today, the parade draws in nearly 2 million spectators.
● Shoelaces were patented in 1790. Though modernized in the 18th century, the earliest shoelaces date back to around 3500 BC.
● The spinoff series Joanie Loves Chachi premiered in 1982. The show won lead Erin Moran a Best Young Actress award.
