Catch the breeze!

Take your happiness to new heights today by flying a kite! We asked Michael Sherman, president of the Wisconsin Kiters Club, for his top tips. First, get the right gear: “Look for a kite made of light, durable rip-stop nylon,” he advises. “If properly cared for, it will last for years!” Next, make sure you’ve got enough wind: “Consistent winds between 7 and 15 miles per hour make for the best conditions,” he says. “And fly in an open space not blocked by buildings or trees, which can cause turbulence and make it difficult to keep your kite in the air.” Finally, to get your kite to soar, “Stand with your back to the wind, release the kite from your hand and gradually let the line out!”
