Serve up a dazzling flower-topped layer cake

A lovely layer cake offers a sweet surprise at your picnic. For the bottom layer, mix up chocolate cake batter and divide into 3 large round cake pans. Bake, let cool and stack cake layers on a cake stand, spreading vanilla frosting between each layer and around the sides (scraping off enough to reveal cake). Bake more batter into 3 small round cake pans. Once cool, stack atop the bottom tier, spreading vanilla frosting between each layer and lightly smoothing frosting on the sides and top. Drizzle caramel sundae topping on the top outer edges of each stack. Set a cupcake wrapper on the side and top of cake and place flowers on the wrappers.
