“I WAS SO PROUD OF MY SON!”

- — Amy Hamman, Edinburg, VA

When my son, Zach, was a senior in high school, he came home a little late one day.

I asked what happened, and he explained he was driving home from school and was coming down Main Street, the busiest street in our small town, when he noticed an elderly lady with a cane trying to cross the street. Even though she was in a crosswalk, no one was stopping to let her cross, so Zach pulled over and got out to help her cross safely. He then waited for her to go in the post office, and walked her back across. Not long after, I ran into an acquaintance who owns a business on Main Street, and she told me she had witnessed Zach helping this elderly lady. She told me how wonderful that was of him. I was so proud of my son for showing an act of kindness to someone in need.
