Woman's World

On an angel’s wings

-

When Woman’s World reader Sherry Kennedy was grieving the loss of her daughter, she received a sign that brought her the comfort and peace her heart needed. She writes:

My oldest daughter passed away suddenly on a cold day. After not hearing from her for a couple of days, which was completely unlike her, I called the police to request a welfare check. She was found unresponsive in her apartment with no signs of foul play. Just like that, my daughter was gone and never coming back again. My heart broke into a million pieces. Hours turned into days, days turned into weeks and weeks turned into months. What did not change was my new reality that my first born is no longer here.

My family and I gave her an ocean burial, since it was her favorite place. With the splashing water and the sparkling sand, we knew that she would ultimately be at peace.

To this day, I still go to visit the ocean year-round. It’s my happy place, and I feel her presence strongest when standing on the beach looking out at the water. During a recent trip, as I stood looking out at the water,

I began to talk to the ocean as if it were my daughter. I said, “I hope that you are traveling the world and seeing everything you always wanted to see. Your family misses you, but we are finding comfort knowing that you are now at peace.”

I stood there and meditated for a while before deciding to head back to the car. As I turned around, I noticed a seashell statue in the distance. The statue was beautiful and had colors that were popping out at me. I felt a gravitational pull to the statue and decided that I would go check it out.

While I was examining the statue, I stepped on something. I moved my foot to find a plaque in the ground, engraved with a pair of angel wings!

This was my assurance that my daughter is in fact traveling the world and that she is at peace. Thank you, Lord, for providing my baby with her angel wings!

ANGEL EXPERT SUNNY DAWN JOHNSTON SAYS…

“I do believe that the loss of a child is like no other loss in the world. It seems to go against the natural order of the world, and yet, we know that it happens time and time again. Many parents cannot imagine the experience that Sherry has gone through. Sherry’s daughter most certainly made sure that her mom didn’t miss the sign, that she was with her and had earned her wings. The greatest comfort that Sherry could receive from her daughter is knowing, without a doubt, that she is okay…and, in fact, traveling the world and at peace.”

“To my surprise, it was a pair of angel wings on the plaque!”
