Quick-cutting sandpaper template

WOOD - - SHOP TIPS - —Chris Degatano, Franklin, Tenn.

Here’s a super-simple way of cutting sandpaper to exact size for sanding blocks and finishing sanders. From 1∕2" or 3∕4" plywood, cut a template that matches the dimensions of the sandpaper sheet for each tool. Bevel-cut two adjoining edges at 45o. Those “sharpened” edges allow you to crisply cut the sandpaper by pulling up on it. Label the template with its paired tool and drill a hanging hole.
