Sharp shooters

Thirty-two students from Millville Elementary School and the Augustine F. Maloney School in Blackstone recently participated in the Knights of Columbus Free Throw Contest at the local level. First place finishers in each division are now invited to participate in the district competition in Webster, Mass. next month. The two local Knights of Columbus councils, Andre Bessette Council in Blackstone and Millville Council, sponsor this event jointly. Karen Thompson, physical education teacher in Blackstone, has coordinated the event for many years, and is assisted by physical education teacher David Isenberg. First place finishers, and their divisions, are Mackenzie Gallagher – 9 year old, Hailey Conant – 10 year old, Jenna Niemczyk – 11 year old Andrew Balliro – 11 year old, Logan McCourt – 10 year old, Ryan James – 9 year old.
