D-III girls squads earn emphatic home victories

WOONSOCKET — After allowing 22 points in the opening half of its Division III girls basketball game with Warwick Vets, Mount St. Charles proceeded to allow five points over the final 16 minutes.

Junior forward Julia Laquerre scored a game-high 22 points on 9-for-15 shooting to go along with eight steals, while freshman Katie Lynch and junior Emily D’Abrosca each added 10 in a 77-29 win Thursday night.

Mount St. Charles (7-0 Division III) remains one of just two unbeaten teams left in the division along with Middletown. The Mounties also received six points and seven rebounds from Kaitlyn Koller and six points and six rebounds from Amelia Fadden.

The Mounties are back in action Tuesday night when Burrillvil­le, which has won three straight games, makes the

short trip to Woonsocket.
